“The Bachelor” first aired in 2002, and it quickly became a national TV sensation. The ABC show ran for a successful 21 seasons, and viewers ate up each and every one of them. Viewers would be left waiting, anxious, until the next episode, to see who the Bachelor would chose in the next challenge. And ultimately, which of these lucky girls would conquer the heart of the handsome man.
But as is often the case with reality TV, things don’t always work out as planned and, actual reality, always catches up. Ever wondered what happened to the winners of each season? Where did these couples end up? Did they make it? Did they separate after a week? We’ve got the answers for you! Check out what The Bachelor couples are up to today, in this fascinating “then and now” trip down memory lane.
The Bachelor, Season 1: Alex Michel and Amanda Marsh
The first season of the bachelor hosted Alex Michel, a successful businessman and TV producer. After a long season and seven weeks of filming, Alex chose Amanda Marsh, a beautiful event planner.
After many dates and encounters, Alex chose Amanda over runner-up Trista Rehn. However, Alex didn't propose to Amanda and instead decided to date. Turns out, the couple only lasted a year before they broke it off. Yeah, we were bummed too.
Now: Alex Michel
So what is the handsome Alex Michel up to these days? Alex dropped off the face of the earth after his break-up with Amanda, being virtually non-existent across social media.
Well, 15 years after the show, Alex moved to Washington D.C. and started working for a consulting company. And yes, it appears he's still single.
Now: Amanda Marsh
Amanda, on the other hand, said "yes" to her childhood friend, Jay Caldwell, and the two got married. Amanda became a nurse and currently lives in Kansas, with her husband and two year old daughter, Chloe.
Even though some of you might be a bit sad that Chloe's father isn't Alex Mitchel, you'll be happy to know that the two still stay in touch, “I still keep in touch with Alex a couple times a year. We call for birthdays and stuff.” says Marsh.
The Bachelor, Season 2: Aaron Buerge and Helene Eksterowicz
The second season of "The Bachelor" ended with a kick! As it turns out, Aaron popped the question to Helene, turning her into the first ever contestant to ever receive a marriage proposal in the show.
Unfortunately, seems like it wasn't meant to be, since the couple broke up only five weeks after the season finale aired. Oh well, let's see where these two ended up...
Now: Aaron Buerge
It took six years after his break-up with Helene, until finally, Aaron met the one. In 2009, he married a woman from his hometown, Butler, Missouri. A couple of months later, they were graced with a baby daughter, which they named Aven.
The family currently lives in Missouri, where Aaron holds a prestigious position, as the executive VP of a Bank in Clinton, Missouri. Guess it all worked out for the best, huh?
Now: Helene Eksterowicz
Looks like Helene also moved on with life. She got married to a tech consultant, Andrew Goodman, in 2013. And more recently, in 2016, gave birth to her first child, which she named Noah.
Apart from being recognized as the winner of the popular Bachelor's second season, she gets plenty of attention in her job as a school psychologist, in New Jersey.
The Bachelor, Season 3: Andrew Firestone and Jen Schefft
This was an interesting season for "The Bachelor". It featured rich tire heir, Andrew Firestone (we've often wondered why the heir to the famous Firestone tires needed to go on a show to find a woman, anyways). Andrew chose Jen Schefft at the end of the show, and proposed.
But the romance didn't last. The couple ended up breaking it off after a few months. Imagine if they'd gotten married - prenup, anyone?
Now: Andrew Firestone
Andrew can't complain though. His life turned out pretty well, marrying beautiful actress Ivana Bozilovic in 2008, in his family's vineyard (how romantic!).
The couple currently lives in San Francisco with their three beautiful children, Adam, Shane and Anja.
Now: Jen Schefft
Jen also went on to get married and have lovely kids. She married successfull businessman, Joe Waterman, in 2009, and had two children.
Jen went on to become the third contestant on the famous spin-off show, 'The Bachelorette', and is now a happy, stay-at-home mom.
The Bachelor, Season 4: Bob Guiney and Estella Gardinier
The Bachelor's 4th season ended with Bob Guiney choosing Estella Gardinier. Bob hosted GSN Live, the popular interactive show on Game Show Network, and Gardinier was (and still is) a beautiful fitness guru.
Unfortunately, they didn't last more than a few months, breaking up soon after the episode aired.
Now: Bob Guiney
Even though things didn't quite work out for this gorgeous couple, Bob married actress Rebecca Budig, from famous sitcom, "All My Children". Sadly, the couple divorced in 2010, and Bob has been reluctant to share any details about his private love life with anyone! "I'm seeing someone. That's all I'm going to say!" he told Us Weekly.
But hope isn't lost! Guiney got married again in 2016, to Jessica Canyon. The couple had their first child on December, 2018. Guiney is still the lead vocalist of 'The Band From TV', a band of reality TV stars.
Now: Estella Gardinier
Beautiful Gardinier is a sales representative in San Diego, California. She teaches fitness classes (not surprising by how stunning she looks) and founded a suicide prevention organization called 'Project Love You'.
Gardinier is currently single, but dating, as she puts it. Also, turns out Bob and Estella remained good friends, occasionally texting and calling each other.
The Bachelor, Season 5: Jesse Palmer and Jessica Bowlin
Hunk Jesse Palmer is a sports commentator and former NFL quarterback. I mean, it doesn't get any more perfect than this, does it? This season 5 bachelor chose Jessica Bowling, but didn't propose.
The couple didn't date for very long, breaking up after only a few months. But fate had something else in store, as Palmer went on to play for the Canadian Football League. He's also a contributor for the popular show, Good Morning America. Talk about a catch!
Now: Jesse Palmer
Maybe things didn't work out for Palmer in his love life, but his professional life was something different, entirely. Palmer retired as a quarterback in 2007 and went on to become a prominent figure in the world of sports broadcasting - he's currently a sports analyst for ESPN and ABC.
So girls, this one's for you. Jesse is still single! Of course, maybe this is by choice, since the man could have his pick. Or maybe big love commitments just weren't his thing. Since he's a college football announcer, and let me tell you, even if we weren't interested in football at all, we'd go just to hear him speak!
Now: Jessica Bowlin
Jessica retired into a more quiet life, and disappeared from the public view after breaking up with Palmer. But that didn't mean she didn't go on to have a successful career and a happy family. After passing the California State Bar exam in 2007, Bowlin became a lawyer, based in LA.
And career isn't the only thing making Jessica smile. She got married to the handsome guy above and went on to have two cute kids. Well done, girl!
The Bachelor, Season 6: Byron Velvick and Mary Delgado
This season of The Bachelor ended on a slightly happier note, with the couple being the first to actually stay together for a decent period after the show ended. Byron proposed to Delgado and they stayed together for 5 years! So what happened? Why did they end up like so many other reality TV couples?
Turns out that, even though they stayed together for the longest time, compared to other bachelor couples, it was rumored that these two had a very rocky relationship. Delgado even got arrested once, after getting into a very physical fight with Velvick. Two years after, the couple called it quits.
Now: Byron Velvick
Velvick was a professional bass fisherman when he started the show, but retired in 2016. He currently owns a beautiful resort in Del Rio, Texas, where he currently lives with his wife and daughter, Kamber. We hope his second marriage isn't as rocky as the first one!
Even though his 15 minutes of fame are long gone, Byron still manages to appear on the occasional fishing TV show as a guest and bass fishing expert.
Now: Mary Delgado
A wild girl, Mary had several issues with the law in the years following 'The Bachelor'. But fortunately, the now Tampa resident, got her act together and went on to start her own business - The Mary Delgado Health and Fitness Channel on YouTube. Guess she found out a good way to channel that craziness!
As for her love life? Well, she also had a happy ending in that department. Delgado got married in 2015 and, apart from her health and fitness channel, she works as a successful real estate agent in Florida.
The Bachelor, Season 7: Charlie O'Connell and Sarah Brice
Charlie O'Connell had already enjoyed big screen fame with his appearances in "Sliders" and "Dude, Where's My Car?". But we all got to fall in love with this handsome actor all over again when appeared for the Bachelor's seventh season. Charlie chose Sarah Brice, and the two went on to be engaged for two years.
Unfortunately, they broke up in 2007, supposedly because of O'Connell's heavy drinking. But that wasn't the end of it. They would get back together and split up again! Finally, the couple decided to split up for good in 2010. We can't blame them for trying, right?
Now: Charlie O'Connell
Being Jerry O'Connell's little brother, it didn't take long for Charlie to find his way back into the spotlight. But most importantly, O'Connell went to rehab and is currently sober. Good for you, Charlie!
As if being a gorgeous, famous actor isn't enough, Charlie O'Connell has been dating stunning Playboy Playmate Anna Sophia Berglund. And they recently got engaged!
Now: Sarah Brice
Things didn't turn out so bad for Sarah, either. She became a nurse and currently works for a prestigious cosmetic procedures company. Brice even describes herself as an "aesthetic laser guru and a self taught marketing expert for physicians and cosmetic practices".
To top it all off, she got married and has three gorgeous boys. She is currently the Director of Clinical Marketing for Cutera, an international, multi-million dollar company that focuses on aesthetic laser.
The Bachelor, Season 8: Travis Lane Stork and Sarah Stone
Season 8 of The Bachelor saw ER physician, Travis Stork, chose a cute, kindergarten teacher, Sarah Stone. Even though Stork gave Stone a rose at the end of the show, he never proposed.
In what would become the shortest relationship in The Bachelor's history, the couple broke it off only a week after she season finale episode came on the air!
Now: Travis Lane Stork
'The Bachelor' wasn't Travis' last brush with TV fame, as he went on to host the famous daytime talk-show, The Doctors. Going on for 11 seasons, The Doctors was an interesting show that dealt with real-life stories and celebrity interviews, all the while providing answers to pressing medical questions - including interventions and very useful tips.
In 2012, Stork married fellow doctor, Charlotte Brown. They would stay married for the next three years, until getting a divorce in 2015. According to Stork, he is currently single and hasn't been interested in dating anyone serious since his split from Dr. Brown.
Now: Sarah Stone
The cute kindergarten teacher also went on to have a happy ending, after all. Sarah Stone went on to become a real-estate agent in Nashville, Tennessee. She got married to adorable husband, Brock, and had three very cute daughters.
About her time on "The Bachelor": “It was such a fun experience to look back on,” she told The Ashley in 2012. “My life is all about play groups rather than group dates now. [It’s] funny how quickly things change.” We can agree with you there, Sarah!
The Bachelor, Season 9: Prince Lorenzo Borghese and Jennifer Wilson
Lorenzo Borghese was the first bachelor contestant to come from a noble family. Looks, royalty? These girls were in for a treat! Lorenzo picked teacher, Jennifer Wilson, but didn't propose. The couple managed to continue dating for nearly a year after the season ended.
Allegedly, the couple broke it off after Jennifer was accused of cheating on the prince with a colleague from work! What's more, Lorenzo decided to make the best out of a bad situation and started dating the show's runner-up, Sadie Murray.
Now: Prince Lorenzo Borghese
So, what happened to our beloved prince? Lorenzo went on to become a famous TV personality, starring in several shows after 'The Bachelor' ended. Finally, in 2014, he landed a star role in "Lucky Bastards", a show produced by the Esquire Network. Also, he had a role in Celebrity Big Brother.
Apart from his TV career, Lorenzo founded a dog rescue charity and owns a pet supply company and an Italian pet spa. So apart from being royalty and looking absolutely gorgeous, this prince also has a deep love for animals! He was rumored to be dating Linnea Sensenbaugh, but nothing has been confirmed.
Now: Jennifer Wilson
Jennifer made a quiet retreat from the spotlight after the show ended, and decided to move to Florida, where she became a wellness coach for the popular health company, Juice Plus. In 2016, she married accountant Lee Gerschutz.
They went on to have two lovely children, and move to Ohio, where they currently live. "I am happily married", she says of Lee. “We live a quiet, happy life…” Well, what else could you ask for?
The Bachelor, Season 10: Andy Baldwin and Tessa Horst
Gorgeous bachelor Andy Baldwin was a physician and a naval officer. He chose Tessa Horst at the end of season 10, and even though he proposed, the couple never got married.
They did date for about 8 months after the show ended, finally breaking up in 2007, after Tessa left him while he was being deployed to the Pacific. Well, guess she wasn't a fan of long-term relationships.
Now: Andy Baldwin
Andy Baldwin continued his career as a navy physician, and is an active triathlete. As far as his love life goes, Baldwin went on to date Karina Smirnoff, a famous Dancing With The Stars pro dancer. But that's not all; Baldwin actually dated Marla Maples, Donald Trump's ex-wife!
He is currently dating Natalie Davila, a gorgeous athlete with an established social media presence. The two don't have any plans of getting married, yet! But we'll keep you posted.
Now: Tessa Horst
Horst also went on to have a bright future. After breaking up with Baldwin, she stayed in California and married Tom Pickard in 2013. The couple are parents to a young boy.
As for her career, Tessa is a child development therapist based out of San Francisco. Additionally, she works as a clinical supervisor at 'A Better Way', a San Francisco non-profit that empowers children and families to have a better life.
The Bachelor, Season 11: Brad Womack
Apart from his stunning looks, Brad Womack is a very successful American entrepreneur and bar owner. Unfortunately, he didn't have much luck on the show. Brad was the first guy in the show's history to not pick either of the two runner-ups! Both DeAnna and Jenni left season 11 empty-handed.
But our story doesn't end here. Womack came back for a second season of 'The Bachelor', making him the first and only man to ever star as 'The Bachelor' twice. He had better luck the second time around, and ended up engaged to Emily Maynard. However, the couple split some time after and Womack has been single and out of the spotlight ever since.
The Bachelor, Season 12: Matt Grant and Shayne Lamas
Grant was a British financier and business developer, and the first ever bachelor to be from outside North America. He chose Shayne Lamas, daughter of famous American soap opera actor, Lorenzo Lamas. Matt proposed to Shayne at the end of season 12, but the couple never married.
Matt and Shayne broke up just a few months after the show ended. Some say that Lamas was more interested in the fame and glory of celebrity life than she was in Matt. Guess the sexy British accent wasn't enough.
Now: Matt Grant
Grant did pretty well for himself, though. The bachelor started dating Natalie Getz, a winner of the popular TV show, Bachelor Pad. However, it was never clear whether the two were just dating, hanging out, or an actual couple.
Whatever it was, it ended after a few months, and after spending some time in LA, Matt went back to London and met Rebecca Moring, which he married in 2017.
Now: Shayne Lamas
Shayne Lamas had a slightly rockier story after the end of The Bachelor. Lamas had several run-ins with the law, and was even arrested in 2009. She married American internet personality, Nik Richie, in 2010. The couple now has two gorgeous daughters.
As far as career goes, Shayne acted in a few movies, but never fully returned to the spotlight. After marrying Richie, the couple appeared on VH1's famous show, Couples Therapy. Guess it hasn't been such smooth sailing for Lamas.
The Bachelor, Season 13: Jason Mesnick and Melissa Rycroft
This was a season with a riveting twist. As it turns out, Jason Mesnick, an account executive from a Seattle suburb, managed to shock viewers on season 13's finale. Jason proposed to finalist, Melissa Rycroft, only to dump her on the 'After the Final Rose' special, for runner-up, Molly Malaney. Come on, dude. You don't do that, especially on national television!
Mesnick explained that he'd had a change of mind and he was really in love with Molly. That's fine, Jason, but next time make sure to make up your mind before you announce anything on national TV, don't you think? Molly Malaney decided to give him a chance, and the two got married!
Now: Jason Mesnick
Jason married Molly in 2010, and the couple are happily married, living in Seattle, where Jason works as a real estate agent. The couple had their first child, a beautiful daughter, with Malaney.
Jason had a son from a previous marriage, which ended in 2007. Apparently, the two kids get along fine and they're one big happy family. Funny how things turn out, eh?
Now: Melissa Rycroft
Rycroft took her loss with stride, and didn't disappear from the public eye. On the contrary, she appeared on ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ What's more, she went on to appear in the 'Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars' season, and she won! She also co-hosted the first season of the Bachelor Pad. Guess ABC really wanted to make it up to her after The Bachelor incident.
Melissa got engaged in 2099, with best friend Tye. The couple had their first child, daughter Ava, back in 2011. They went on to have two more children. Rycroft also starred in a reality show with her husband, and currently co-hosts 'Redneck Island', a reality show on CMT (Country Music Television).
The Bachelor, Season 14: Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi
Seasn 14's Jake Pavelka, an American pilot and reality TV personality, chose mean girl, Vienna Girardi, at the end of the show. Jake proposed and the two went on to appear on a number of celebrity magazines and extend their 15 minutes of fame as long as they could. But the couple broke up after just a few months, in 2010.
Obsessed with fame, Pavelka went on to meet with Girardi, on camera, for a screaming match, one month after they broke up, in July of 2010. No surprise there, since apparently, Pavelka broke it off with Vienna over the phone! But judging by their appearance on the last season of Bachelor Pad, it seems the two have somewhat made up and are trying to be friendly. Or at the very least, not start a screaming match.
Now: Jake Pavelka
Jake has openly dated a number of women, since breaking up with Vienna. He also appeared on Dancing With the Stars and Bachelor Pad, among other shows.
As for his love life, it was rumored that he was dating Broadway star and Tony Award winner, Kristen Chenoweth. However, they weren't in it for keeps and broke it off eventually. Pavelka announced that he'd started seeing a woman from Arkansas, in 2018. Let's see how long this one lasts...
Now: Vienna Girardi
Vienna also went on to have a continuing brush with fame, when she started dating 'Bachelorette' contestant, Kasey Kahl. The couple lasted almost a year, but broke up in 2014. Vienna went back to single life and opened up a boutique clothing store called Vixen, in Florida.
Sadly, the store closed after only a year, and Girardi secured a job as a recruiter for architecture and engineering companies. She now lives in Florida, and for those of you who just love some juicy gossip, she recently had a nose job.
The Bachelor, Season 15: Brad Womack and Emily Maynard
Remember Brad Womack, the jerk from season 11 that didn't pick anyone? Well, he came back for season 15, and proposed to the beautiful Emily Maynard. Unfortunately, the couple broke it off quickly after the show aired. They were on and off for a while, until finally ending for good in 2011.
Seems like this bachelor wasn't going to get a break on the second time around, either. Some say that Maynard was only on the show as a move to secure her spot as the next Bachelorette. If that's really the case, we say kudos to her, it's not like he was especially nice the first time around.
Now: Brad Womack
Womack stayed out of the public eye, focusing on the bars he owns with his brothers, in Texas. He started dating Ashlee Frazier, one of the contestants on The Bachelor's 17th season. But, yes, you probably guessed it, they broke it off.
Brad has made a conscious effort to stay out of social media, having no Twitter or Instagram accounts. Seems like 'The Bachelor' wasn't really the right place for Womack to find true love. Oh well, we're sure he does fine with his fancy Texas bars!
Now: Emily Maynard
Maynard played it smart, and became the star of 'The Bachelorette', where she got engaged with Jef Holm. Even though their relationship didn't last longer than a few months after the show finale, it was clear that Maynard had achieved her goal of remaining in the spotlight after the Womack fiasco.
Emily married Tyler in 2014, and the couple now have four stunning kids. She lives a happily married life in North Carolina, where she is trying to open a children's store in the near future. Well played, Emily!
The Bachelor, Season 16: Ben Flajnik and Courtney Robertson
In this season of The Bachelor, we were introduced to serial entrepreneur, Ben Flajnik. This bachelor surprised us all when he proposed to show villain, Courtney Robertson in the show's finale. And here comes the plot twist - they broke it off straight after, only to reunite on the 'After the Rose' live special.
The man claimed he chose her because he couldn't believe a model was actually into him. Superficial, anyone? It's no wonder the relationship didn't last more than a year - we can just imagine the scintillating conversation between these two. To make things worse, the exes had a nasty break up in 2012, both giving out interviews to tabloid magazines, talking badly about each other.
Now: Ben Flajnik
Ben continued as an entrepreneur, and went on to co-found Fernet San Francisco, an artisanal fernet company. After breaking it off with Robertson, there were rumors that Flajnik was dating Kris Jenner. Oh, and this stud also used to date Jennifer Love Hewitt, before his 'bachelor' days.
Flajnik went on to meet, now former, girlfriend, Stephanie Winn, through Tinder. But apparently, they broke it off and he's currently single again. There is one girl that appears to have taken control over his entire Instagram, but don't worry, it's just his baby niece, Josephine!
Now: Courtney Robertson
This girl certainly took her 15 minutes of fame pretty seriously. She squeezed the opportunity up until the very last drop, releasing a memoir in 2014 about her time as a villain on the reality TV show. Robertson clearly states that she didn't go on the show to make friends. The book went on to make The New York Times Best-seller List.
After splitting up with Flajnik, Courtney started dating Arie Luyendyk, a finalist from the Bachelorette's 8th season. However, like it often happens with quick rebounds, they didn't last, and Courtney went back to single life. She currently lives in LA, where she works as a real estate agent.
The Bachelor, Season 17: Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici
We're happy to report that these two actually became the first couple on 'The Bachelor' to make it down the aisle! Sean Lowe, a devout Christian, proposed to graphic designer, Catherine Giudici, in Thailand, no less. The couple had a big, fancy, televised wedding on ABC.
The couple got married in January, 2014, and publicly stated that they had waited until their wedding night to engage in any physical relationship. How sweet!
Now: Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici
Shortly after their wedding, Sean and Catherine went on to appear on several reality TV shows, such as ‘Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars’ and ‘Celebrity Wife Swap’ in 2015. Sean also appeared in 'Dancing With the Stars'.
The couple have been happily married, welcoming their first baby in 2016, their cute son Samuel. The family currently resides in Texas, and they just look adorable on social media. We guess fairy tales do come true sometimes!
The Bachelor, Season 18: Juan Pablo Galavis and Nikki Ferrell
Juan Pablo Galavis, an American-born Venezuelan, was the first latino star on 'The Bachelor'. He started out as a contestant on 'The Bachelorette', on which he eventually went from fan fave to persona non-grata, after some offensive comments. He chose Nikki Ferell on 'The Bachelor's season finale.
However, Juan Pablo never proposed to Nikki or told her he loved her. And after a rocky, long-distance relationship, the couple broke it off in 2014, even after appearing on a season of Couples Therapy. Though we applaud Galavis' honesty, we have to ask ourselves if this bachelor wasn't aware that honesty really isn't a big thing in show business. Sometimes, you're better off just letting things lie, dude.
Now: Juan Pablo Galavis
Galavis enjoyed single life for a while, making several appearances in famous clubs. But this former soccer pro ended up marrying Venezuelan model and Miss Venezuela beauty pageant winner, Osmariel Villalobos, in 2017.
Juan Pablo and Osmariel went on to have a daughter, which he constantly features with cute captions on his Instagram feed. Galavis is currently working as a sports and music commentator.
Now: Nikki Ferrell
Nikki went on to marry boyfriend Tyler Van Loo, a guy she'd been with before going on 'The Bachelor'. They got married on October 2016. She continues to work as a pediatric nurse in Kansas City, and appears to feature what seems like sponsored content on her Instagram account.
Nikki reflected on her experience on the show, saying, “I can’t believe this was two years ago,” Nikki wrote. “Comparing my life then to my life now is unreal. I’ve learned so much and grown so much as a person, and I honestly couldn’t be happier. Although it’s taken me a while to realize it, I wouldn’t be the person I am today without that experience.”
The Bachelor, Season 19: Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff
This was truly a love story, at least from Whitney's point of view. Viewers could tell that she'd really fallen for American farmer, Chris Soules. As it turns out, he proposed at the end of the season, in 2015, and Soules went on to appear on 'Dancing With the Stars'.
But the couple never got married. Only six months after the season finale, and right after Chris' appearance on 'Dancing With the Stars', the couple broke it off. Oh well, guess farmers aren't a safe bet, either.
Now: Chris Soules
Soules went back to farming life in Iowa, keeping busy and working out. And being very active on social media networks, since he is constantly posting selfies. Hey, the guy wasn't quite ready to let go of the fame and fortune of celeb spotlight, and to be honest, we don't mind looking at selfies of a guy that looks like that. Do you?
Unfortunately, Soules made national headlines recently, after being part of a fatal car crash in his hometown of Iowa. He went to trial for his involvement in the crash, which ended in him pleading guilty, on November of 2018. Soules is currently single, and hopefully, not facing life in prison!
Now: Whitney Bischoff
Whitney remained in the spotlight for a little longer, participating in 'Bachelor Nation'. In 2016, she appeared with six other former ‘Bachelor’ contestants in an improvised parody of the famous show, called “Will You Accept This Rose”.
Bischoff continues to work as a fertility nurse in Chicago. She got married to Ricky Angel in 2017, to which she said, “I am very, very lucky,” she said. “I’ve met a great man and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been". Congrats, girl!
The Bachelor, Season 20: Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell
Ben Higgins proposed to Lauren Bushnell at the end of season 20, but not before declaring his love for finalist, JoJo Fletcher. Ben admitted that he had chosen Lauren because he liked her just a little bit more. Wao dude, what a romantic proposal.
The couple tried to make it work; Lauren moved to Denver with Higgins and they were together for a while, even appearing on their own reality show, “Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After?”. The couple decided to call off their wedding on November 2016, but remain engaged. Still, they broke it off completely just a few months after.
Now: Ben Higgins
Ben continued to live in Denver, working with software companies, participating in reality TV shows, and co-hosting his own podcast with Ashley Iaconetti. He also co-founded Generous Coffee, a coffee company based in Colorado that donates some of its profits for charity organizations. Higgins is currently single.
In talking about his separation from Lauren, Ben said to E! News, "I think mutually Lauren and I saw that life was getting more difficult - I would say the joy that we felt toward our relationship at the beginning was — for some reason — slipping away, and we were both working very hard to bring that joy back. And it just never seemed to get there."
Now: Lauren Bushnell
She went on to date famous lifestyle blogger, Devin Antin, whom she split up with after a short time. Bushnell then dated American country music singer, Chris Lane, but ended it after some time. She is currently single and living in California.
A former flight attendant for Alaskan Airlines, Lauren recently founded a company that makes rosé wine, and we guess her BA in business management is a big help.
The Bachelor, Season 21: Nick Viall
Nick Vaill, and American actor and model, and a two-time finalist on The Bachelorette, proposed to special education teacher, Vanessa Grimaldi, in the season finale. Grimaldi and Viall were in no hurry to get married, though.
Even though Vanessa moved to Los Angeles, from her hometown of Montreal, Canada, the two were taking things slow. Nick even said, in an interview in 2017, "I think it's too early for us [to get married]." "We're still doing a lot of new things together. We’re very open about the fact that we have a long way to go and we’re excited about that journey."
Now: Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimaldi
But sadly, the couple broke up in August of 2017. Nick continues to live in LA, and is still single, stating that he is in no rush to find a girlfriend. He appeared on several episodes of General Hospital, in 2018.
As for Vanessa, she went back to Montreal and started dating Canadian businessman, Josh Wolfe. They've only been dating for a few months, but we've got our fingers crossed!
Season 22: Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Becca Kufrin...and Lauren Burnham
Arie Luyendyk, a Dutch-born American racing driver, proposed to Becca Kufrin in the season finale. However, things ended with an exciting twist, when after just two months, Luyendyk announced that he'd had a change of heart and realized he'd made a mistake. He was in love with runner-up Lauren Burnham instead!
To make matters worse, the network filmed the entire break-up, and released the whole thing on national TV, unedited. Kufrin wasn't happy, to say the least, but she managed to get something good out of it. Kufrin became the leading lady for what would be the next season of ABC's 'The Bachelorette'.
Now: Arie Luyendyk, Jr.
Arie and Burnham are still engaged, and have become popular TV personalities, appearing on Jimmy Kimmel and ABC’s “Good Morning America” and “Live With Kelly and Ryan.”
Arie made it known to the world that he couldn't care less what they thought of his decision. None of that mattered to a guy who appears to be head over heels for this blonde beauty. We just hope they last!
Now: Becca Kufrin
Kufrin now works as a publicist and TV personality. She enjoyed national success after her stint on the 14th season of 'The Bachelorette', on which she married Garrett Yrigoyen.
The couple are still happily married and live in Minnesota. But last we heard, they were house hunting in San Diego, in December 2018. Seems a move to California is in the cards for this lovely duo.
And What Happened To All The Other Contestants?
Season 15: Michelle Money
Money was one of the contestants in 'The Bachelor's 15th Season, which featured bachelor Brad Womack. She went on to appear on Bachelor Pad and Bachelor in Paradise.
Even though she won the first season of Bachelor in Paradise, resulting in her engagement with Cody Sattler, the couple broke it off shortly after.
Now: Michelle Money
She's currently dating Mike Weir, a professional golfer. And as far as careers go, Money was a hairstylist for years, but it seems she's also trying to sell strange beauty products on Instagram.
Whatever she's doing, we wish her the best of luck with Weir and whatever it is that she's doing on Instagram. And of course, with lovely daughter Brielle, whom she had with ex-husband Ryan Money.
Season 19: Ashley Salter
Remember Chris Soules, the hot farmer from Iowa? Well, this Brooklyn-born hairstylist was a contestant on that season of The Bachelor. Sadly, though, she was eliminated on the fourth week.
But Ashley didn't give up so easily. She returned with hopes of finding her true love the second time around, and participated in the second season of Bachelor in Paradise. Unfortunately, she didn't win this one, either.
Now: Ashley Salter
But don't be sad! Ashley ended up getting back together with her college sweetheart, Austin Brannen, and they were married on 2016. The couple had a son shortly after, which they named Brooks.
Even though Salter had a losing streak on her reality TV debuts, she says she couldn't be happier with her life now. She's constantly posting family photos on her Instagram, claiming she feels like she's "walking on sunshine".
Season 20: Olivia Caridi
A former news anchor from Texas, Olivia Caridi had everything going for her - brains and definitely, beauty. But apparently, this wasn't enough to save the young contestant from heartbreak.
Caridi was on the show when bachelor Ben Higgins was the lead, and after telling him she loved him, she got dumped on a beach! Come on, dude!
Now: Olivia Caridi
Caridi's experience in "The Bachelor" was negative, to say the least. She came out some time later saying how the show had left her depressed and suicidal, and not because of Higgin's choice, but rather the amount of bullying she suffered from the show's producers.
It was even hard for her to find a job after this, since every TV News network refused to hire her because she was a "PR nightmare" after the show's finale. She currently hosts her own podcast, where she discusses various topics. Additionally, she's doing some modelling and posting pics in the Kentucky Derby with fellow contestant, Ashley Iaconetti. She seems to be doing much better.
Season 14: Rozlyn Papa
Rozlyn Papa was a contestant on The Bachelor's 14th season, when Jake Pavelka was leading man. And she had more than her 15 minutes of fame when it was discovered that she'd been having an affair with one of the show's producers!
Even though they both denied this, on several occasions, they were both fired from the show. Some time later, it was discovered that the producer had, in fact, been involved with Papa, even visiting her hometown to introduce her to his father!
Now: Rozlyn Papa
Papa is another contestant that describes her experience on The Bachelor as a great feat of survival. She even writes it on her Twitter account, which reads: Survived The Bachelor. Climbed Kilimanjaro. Climbed back down. Fought off a rabid raccoon. Twice. Good for her.
Apart from being an avid social media personality, she works as a marketing director in her hometown of Richmond, Virginia. Guess things didn't turn out too shabby, after all.
Season 16: Casey Shteamer
Remember our San Francisco-bsaed entrepreneur, Ben Flajnik? He was the bachelor on season 16, and one of the girls that was eliminated was Casey Shteamer. Even though she was a stunning blonde, she was, apparently, not so keen on honesty.
Turns out Casey had a boyfriend waiting for her back home, in Kansas! She worked as a trading clerk back then, and we have to ask ourselves, wasn't she worried that her boyfriend would see her competing for another man's love on national TV?!
Now: Casey Shteamer
Casey now works as a lifestyle blogger and, we hope for her sake, posts sponsored content on her social media accounts. She basically just posts pretty pics and lives a post-celeb life.
Even though there were rumors about her dating an ABC producer, Elan Gale, the two didn't last long. Shteamer got married on March, 2018. We wonder what ever happened to that boyfriend she left in Kansas...
Season 19: Kelsey Poe
Kelsey Poe was a guidance counselor from Michigan. She was in season 19 of The Bachelor, competing for farmer Chris Soule's love. Even though she was eliminated in week 6, Poe had a few tricks up her sleeve.
As it turns out, poe waited until the moment right before she was supposed to be eliminated to reveal that she was a widow, and went on to have what many thought was a fake panic attack. That's a hell of a show to put on just to save yourself from elimination.
Now: Kelsey Poe
Kelsey Poe was another of several Bachelor contestants to come forward about the show's mistreatment of them. She said she was suffering from PTSD and even threatened to sue ABC and make them pay for therapy. But she didn't, and disappeared from social media entirely, up until 2016, when she posted again after nearly two years of radio silence.
Judging by her last posts, it seems she's moved to Paris and started dating someone new. She looks happy enough in her pictures, but then again, I guess it's hard to look sad when you're dating and living in Paris.
Season 20: Lace Morris
A real estate agent from Colorado, Lace Morris was a contestant on the show's 20th season. However, she was also the first contestant to voluntarily quit the show. She left on the third week, claiming that she couldn't love anyone else until she loved herself first.
Apparently, she even has a tattoo saying the exact same thing. We fully support your thinking Lace, but don't you think you should've considered that before going on the show?
Now: Lace Morris
It seems Morris made the right decision, since she went on to appear in the third season of Bachelor in Paradise, on which she met Grant Kemp. And, the two got married after Kemp proposed with a stunning diamond ring!
Unfortunately, though, the marriage didn't last, and the couple got divorced soon after. But not to worry, she met a stunning new guy on Bumble, named Russell. All the best of luck to you, girl!
Season 13: Naomi Crespo
Crespo was a contestant on season 13 of The Bachelor, and she was generally known as a beautiful, free-spirited, fun girl. Yes, we all thought she was completely nuts sometimes, and a bit weird, we must admit. But, regardless, she was definitely one of the coolest contestants to ever participate in the show.
Funny fact: The photo above features Naomi attending a funeral for a bird, that her mother made her attend to after she hit it with her car. Guess lunacy runs in the family. Even though Crespo had a clear connection with the season's bachelor, Jason Mesnick, there was something that still didn't quite work. Naomi, being a San Diego native, wanted to stay put, and Mesnik, on the other hand, had planned to live in his hometown of Washington. Mesnick also commented that he thought Crespo wasn't really ready to settle down with anyone yet.
Now: Naomi Crespo
Naomi went off the grid, after posting on her Twitter account on 2011, for the last time. However, she did seem to be happy until then, posting happy photos and a link to her blog.
Crespo has a blog titled "The Songs Of My Soul", on which she sometimes post religious quotes, pics of her playing guitar, and more. We really hope she's happy and having fun, wherever she is.
Season 13: Melissa Rycroft
Melissa was the winner of the show's 13th season, but things took an unexpected turn when Jason went on to dump her and say he wanted runner-up Molly Malaney, instead!
A former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, Melissa was definitely one of the most gorgeous girls on the show. But even that didn't save her from heartbreak. Even so, Melissa bounced back famously, and became a known TV personality, host and dancer.
Now: Melissa Rycroft Strickland
Rycroft went on to appear on Dancing With the Stars, twice. She reconnected with an old love, an insurance salesman called Tye Strickland. Melissa still manages to have a very successful career as a TV personality, appearing on several American shows.
She's happily married and has three kids, which she is constantly posting cute photos of on Instagram! We're happy Rycroft found her silver lining. Even after such public humiliation, she pushed forward and got the life of her dreams.
Season 17: Tierra LiCausi
Tierra LiCausi was a leasing consultant from Las Vegas, and she was quite the drama queen on her time on The Bachelor. She was certainly considering one of the show's worst villains, as she was always fighting with another girl.
Tierra's nasty attitude made the other contestants angry, and she wasn't liked by many. Even though she was often shown yelling to the other girls, bachelor Sean Lowe wasn't aware of this mean behavior, until they had a fight of their own and he realized it was time for LiCausi to go. She was eliminated on the 7th week.
Now: Tierra LiCausi
Tierra went on to reconnect with a former partner she'd dated right before going on the show. As it turns out, the two saw each other again and are now engaged! There really is someone for everybody!
LiCausi has over 10K followers on Instagram and is constantly posting photos of her and her family. She looks quite happy for a mean girl.
Season 11: DeAnna Pappas
DeAnna was rejected by Brad Womack on season 11, but she went on to be the leading star of The Bachelorette, shortly after. She was proposed to by the winner and the finalist of The Bachelorette, but what happened with this particular contestant, nobody could have imagined.
In a surprising turn of events, DeAnna met one of the contestants' twin brother, named Stephen Stagliano. The two hit it off and started dating almost immediately.
Now: DeAnna Pappas
DeAnna married Stagliano and recently celebrated her 7-year wedding anniversary. She currently works as a TV host, lifestyle and travel blogger, and of course is a full-time mom.
DeAnna seems to be happily married, as she is constantly posting happy photos on her popular social media profiles. She claims Stephen is the perfect dad, and she couldn't have asked for a happier ending.
Season 19: Ashley Iaconetti
Ashley Iaconetti, a known American TV personality and journalist, went on to participate in three of The Bachelor franchises. She was a contestant on the show's 19th season, featuring Chris Soules as a lead bachelor. Apparently, Iaconetti said her close friends actually called her "KardASHLEYan" because of her striking resemblance to Kim K.
Eliminated on week 6, Ashley turned out to be a serious crier, so much so, that she began to be known as the girl that cries about everything. Ashley went on to participate in Bachelor in Paradise and The Bachelor Winter Games., which was the only show she won, out of the three.
Now: Ashley Iaconetti
Ashley hosts two podcasts, one with famous bachelor, Ben Higgins. She's a correspondent for 'Access Hollywood' and a contributor for Cosmopolitan magazine.
She got engaged to Jared Haibon in 2018, who initially rejected her on Bachelor in Paradise. And, judging by her non-stop flow of Instagram pictures, she's still convinced she's Kim Kardashian's doppelganger.
