The lovely Lotus flower reference scripted in Sanskrit on her wrist is forever, however, meanings shift and bend. Alba opened up to The Late Show host Stephen Colbert about some of those sensitive meanings. This Sanskrit word for Sacred Lotus tattooed on her arm came about after a rough patch. It was a statement of spiritual growth following a difficult break-up. “He was really anti-tattoos, and I felt like after I broke up with him, I found myself again.”
As a warning of sorts to the young, Alba told Allure, “Something that’s meaningful to you when you’re younger is not going to be meaningful to you five years later.” Clarifying, “You’re never going to be in the same place emotionally and mentally…,” she said, opening up about some of the tattoos she regrets.

Demi Lovato has so many tattoos she’s lost count. It’s no wonder. She just added a rose next to her enigmatic inside index-finger script, “Sorry not Sorry” and an ankle portrait of her late dog Buddy for which she credits Bang Bang.

“To me, it’s art,” UK pop star Cheryl said of the various pieces she commissioned on her skin. Her largest canvases her entire backside with an English rose design like a wall plastered in graffiti art. It took 15 hours, inked in parts, and cost as much as a small car, the celebrity said.
One of her favorites decorates the side of her hand with a tribal-like Polynesian Maori insignia. It’s a representation of the letter “C” and a symbol of new beginnings.
