Back in 2017, Chris Pratt decided that in order to be “economical” with his time, he had to stop taking selfies with fans. Some would think that fame finally got to his head, but in lieu of a picture the actor offers fans a heartfelt handshake which a bit less time consuming. But Pratt does make exceptions to his rule, one Redditor testified “My girlfriend met Chris Pratt on a red eye flight from LAX to Orlando. He waited around and took selfies with everyone waiting for their bags while he waited for his. She tried to take the fastest picture ever because she was embarrassed to bother him and he made sure the picture was good before she left.”
Also something many people can relate to, Chris Pratt struggles with his weight and finds it difficult to deny himself carbs for long stretches. Not even Hollywood superheros find it hard to say no to chocolate cake and cookies.
Being the southern belle that she is, Reese Witherspoon geeks out everytme she sees her idol, Dolly Parton. Some find it hard to believe that an A-list actor like herself still gets excited to meet other celebrities.
Although she’s been coined “America’s Sweetheart”, she told Glamour magazine “I certainly didn’t self-identify as anyone’s sweetheart,” the Oscar winning actor said “I’m friendly, but I don’t think I’m sweet. I’m honest.” When she’s not on a movie set or on the red carpet, Witherspoon likes to snuggles up and read a good book, play with her French Bulldog who she adores, and spend time with her family.
Although certain celebrities choose to sport their wealth with fancy cars, jewelry, mansions, and completely unnecessary things, like owning tigers, others prefer to keep things simple and down to earth. These celebs decide, instead of living extravagantly, to invest in their future, take care of those closest to them and do good in other ways. They decide not to let the money they make affect their lives, and would rather remain humble than flaunt their riches. Here are some of those stars who like to keep it real, including a billionaire music mogul who sends his kid to public school. Everyone likes to hear of celebs living like they do, but a show entitled ‘the lifestyles of the modest and the humble’ would not have the same ring to it.
Zooey Deschanel Is As Humble As They Come
As you well know, Zooey Deschanel has a very popular show called New Girl, has starred in the cult classic, 500 Days of Summer, and is iconic for her adorable quirkiness. You might think that with all that success, she would have a swimming pool full of money outside of her mansion, but the star has instead chosen to stay humble. According to financial documents uncovered from her divorce from musician Ben Gibbard, Zooey is extremely responsible with her wealth.
She is oddly frugal with her money, choosing to shop only for the bare necessities as well as planning for her life after acting. Also, she is known for giving to a lot of charities and organizations, doing good throughout the world. She is also a very talented musician in her own right, having bands and collaborations with several big-time players in the music game.
Jay Leno Is Big Saver
Jay Leno has a reputation as being one of the most famous talk show hosts of all time. With a career spanning three decades, he has an estimated worth of a mere $350 million. For Leno, he says he learned the meaning of money while working at a young age. Since retiring from The Tonight Show, Leno has lived strictly off the profits from his stand up career.
That means all of the savings from all those years on TV are locked up somewhere safe and sound, waiting for a rainy day. Although he loves collecting cars, he has never spent any of his talk show dough on them. Maybe he is saving up to buy himself a highway he can drive his cars on.
Paul McCartney May Be A Music King, But He Doesn't Act Like It
Paul McCartney has been one of the most famous people on the planet for the better part of half a century. He was a member of the super famous band The Beatles, as if they need an introduction, but you wouldn’t know he was uber famous by the way he lives his life. He came from humble roots and has never been known to be greedy. Instead, he is known for his activism and giving to charities throughout the world.
For instance, he decided to send his daughter Stella to a state school rather than a private institution. Quite the opposite actually, as Sir Paul has been described by some closest to him as “cheap,” but it might be because they expect him to pick up the tab all of the time. Maybe he’s trying to teach everyone a lesson. Well, anyone hanging out with Paul McCartney probably has money themselves, so they shouldn’t have any complaints.
Tyra Banks Followed Her Mother's Advice
Tyra Banks has a degree from Harvard Business School, and is a supermodel and business mogul. Through hard work and success, you might think she is entitled to flaunt a bit of bling around. But Banks prefers to be reserved when it comes to showing off her wealth. Banks says she got her sense of money from her mother, who played a big part in helping her establish herself as a model. In a New York Times interview, she said she is frugal and has been big on saving since she was a little girl. While she does like to pamper herself with visits to the Cheesecake Factory and expensive cosmetics, she maintains a close relationship with her accountant.
Must be so nice to be able to go to the Cheesecake Factory right after being on your own TV show. For years she must have had to refrain from junk food, but now that she has made it firmly in the world of business, it must be so rewarding to be able to enjoy a little treat now and then.
Hilary Swank Had A Rough Upbringing
After winning Oscars for her performances in Million Dollar Baby and Boys Don’t Cry, Hilary Swank has cemented herself as a serious actress. But the actresses’ life was not always the glitz and glamour she enjoys now. She grew up in a trailer park in Washington, and even after moving to California with her mom, the two lived in the car. Swank has never forgotten her humble beginnings.
It does not matter how popular and successful she has become, she maintains a comfortable life, but is not one to flaunt. Her finances are kept in check by bargain hunting, as she prefers to spend her money on her family. After living out of a car, I’m sure just about any house would seem like a mansion to her.
For Carrie Underwood, Fame Isn't Everything
As the winner of the fourth season of American Idol, country singing legend Carrie Underwood’s fame shot up into the stratosphere. Her rise to stardom happened so quickly that people could forgive her spending a bit of cash at the very beginning of her career. But that is not what happened. In a Rachel Ray interview, Underwood stated that, generally, she lives like a typical American.
While she was dating her now husband, NHL star Mike Fisher, she said the two would have date nights at Subway more often than not. Furthermore, although she does not need to, she loves grocery shopping and cutting coupons. Between a singer’s salary and that of a hockey player, I’m sure they could afford to buy a Subway or two.
Mark Zuckerberg Doesn't Care About Money
Although Mark Zuckerberg founded Facebook, making him one of the richest and most influential people in the world, he lives very modestly when you factor in how stinking wealthy he is. He wears typical street clothes and goes about life the way everyone else does. He does not show up to Facebook Headquarters in a limo or wear a watch costing more than a Porsche, either.
He was married in his backyard and has stated many times that he is more concerned with his work than his wealth. According to one source, he is so unimpressed with wealth that he plans to donate 99 percent of his Facebook stocks over the course of his life. In 2014, he traded in his $30,000 Acura for a VW hatchback. If a hatchback does not say down to earth, pretty much nothing will.
Mariska Hargitay Is Always Thinking Ahead
Mariska Hargitay is best known for playing a starring role as Lieutenant Olivia Benson of the NBC police procedural show, Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. It was once leaked that the star made a whopping $400,000 per episode, and Forbes Magazine ranked her the second-highest paid actress in the world in 2014. While she has a lot of zeros attached to her salary, that does not mean she is constantly on spending sprees.
She confessed that she struggled with money for years, and just because she is making big bucks now doesn’t mean it will always be the case. Keeping this in mind, she always plans for the future, because Hollywood is very fickle. How many one hit wonders has Hollywood chewed up and spit out? Or even worse, completely swallowed up and forgotten?
Tobey Maguire Is A Very Humble Spiderman
While the Spider-Man star has been the tail-end of plenty of jokes throughout the years, people may forget that the start has made a boatload of money for the movies he has been in. When the third movie of the franchise was made, Toby had made over $36 million. The fact that he has kept his wealth under wraps is a testament to just how cautious he is with his cash.
In 2007, he told Parade Magazine that he had a tough upbringing and that he learned how to be frugal from those days. According to the Spiderman actor, material possessions are meaningless to him, and he would rather have little to nothing and instead work incredibly hard to stay afloat than live extravagantly. It is pretty easy to ignore all the hate being thrown your way when you have blockbuster movies to film and millions of dollars to make.
Leonardo DiCaprio, A True Philanthropist
Leonardo DiCaprio could possibly be the most recognized actor in the world. All of his success and work has amassed him a great big pile of cash. With his standing as one of the most respected actors in showbiz, Leo has decided not to spend too much on himself but on projects that are important to him. He owns three Teslas, which are better for the environment, as he is a serious conservationist.
His foundation, The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, has raised up to $3 million for the World Wildlife Fund’s tiger habitat. Additionally, he has donated $15 million in grants to environmental organizations throughout the world. He even got into movie production by funding the documentary Before the Flood, warning about the dangers of climate change. It is great that Leo cares so much about the environment, now we just have to get all the politicians in line.
Shailene Woodley Is An Environmentalist And Uses The Bare Minimum
Shailene Woodley is the star of the Divergent series, one of the best young adult sci-fi franchises ever. So it is safe to say that Woodley is well-off. Being as famous and successful as she is, she is still found purchasing used clothes and is an avid advocate of the environment.
In a THR profile, most people who know her best call her “grounded” and “authentic.” She confessed that she has yet to splurge on anything, which for someone at her level is quite impressive. She makes her own beauty products and lives off the land whenever she can.
Kristen Bell, A Self-proclaimed Hillbilly
Kristen Bell started out in small roles, until she became popular in important ones. She has starred in films like Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Frozen, Get Him to the Greek and so much more. Currently married to Dax Shepard from the Punk’d series, together they have amassed a wealth of $20 million.
Their salaries notwithstanding, the two claim that their wedding was only $142, including gas, and that neither likes to be ostentatious. Bell even said that they describe themselves as “hillbillies at heart” and love coupons. Her advice is that the best coupons come from Bed, Bath and Beyond. Too bad you can’t get everything at Bed, Bath and Beyond.
Shia LaBeouf Looks Like A Homeless Millionaire
For someone channeling their inner hobo with their look, you can call Transformers star Shia LaBeouf is anything but extravagant. Since the star was ten years old, he has been acting, but never let it change him or his outlook on the world. In an interview with Parade Magazine, he gives all of the credit for not being into material interests to his parents. LaBeouf grew up in a family of artists, which made him appreciative of his success, and there’s no reason to flaunt that to the world, according to the star.
He said in interviews, “If I have enough money to eat I’m good.” He has also been on record stating his hatred of the new generation of stars’ obsession with greed and vanity. These are the kind of matters that make him put a paper bag on his face with “I’m not famous anymore” written on it. While his principles on spending and materialism are sound, why wouldn’t he just buy himself some normal clothes that didn’t stink all the time, so people don’t think he’s homeless?
Halle Berry Takes Care Of Herself
Halle Berry is a hugely-successful star who already has one Oscar on her mantle. While the star has made millions from her lengthy career, she continues to work and look forward to it. She lives a simple life and wants to keep doing her job, which she loves very much.
She has said in interviews that she’s not the type to need fancy cars or jewelry. Instead, she continually saves because of the tumultuous nature of Hollywood. Abuse was a part of her upbringing so she learned at a very early age to be an independent woman emotionally and financially. Yeah, you go girl.
Sarah Michelle Gellar Is Your Typical Mother
Perhaps she needs no introduction, but Sarah Michelle Geller starred as the hugely popular Buffy from Buffy the Vampire Slayer series, and has gone on to have a wildly successful career after the show, until she decided to settle down and enjoy the quiet life.
While the start has some serious money, she has revealed that she lives a fairly normal life with her two sons, shopping at Whole Foods, just like an average Jane. Geller learned not to take money for granted from her single mother, after her dad left the family. She notes that her mom wouldn’t let her be pretentious. To be fair, don’t most “normal people” shop at cheaper places than whole foods?
Dave Grohl Is Careful With His Savings
Foo Fighters front-man and former Nirvana drummer, Dave Grohl, has amassed some serious bank throughout his three-decade-long career. He has made an estimated $225 million through music, and marketing himself and his band. But the rock star gets worried about spending too much money too fast.
While the talented musician is filthy rich, he has a hard time spending the money, and is still afraid of going broke because he never finished high school. He has his family to take care of, which makes him more frugal than one might think.
Jennifer Lawrence Has Been Living In The Same Apartment For Years
Jennifer Lawrence is one of the best-paid female stars in Hollywood. She made a ton of cash starring in the Hunger Games franchise and proved her acting skills in movies like Silver Linings Playbook. While she should live like a queen with the money she’s made, she chooses not to.
With one Oscar already secured, she lives in the very same apartment she did before she got her fame. In a Fabulous magazine interview, she stated that “I was raised to have value for money, to have respect for money, even though you have a lot of it.” No wonder she looks so flippin’ happy all of the time. She has a lot of money and knows how to spend it.
Sarah Jessica Parker Is Nothing Like Carrie Bradshaw
While the character she portrayed on Sex in the City, Carrie Bradshaw, wasn’t one for modesty or subtlety with money, the same cannot be stated for Sarah Jessica Parker. In 2008, during an interview, Parker spoke out about the importance of working hard for money, and the equal need to be responsible with it.
As a kid, she wore hand-me-downs, and to this day loves going to thrift stores and finding bargains. She grew up on welfare and had humble beginnings, which also helped shape her view towards money.
Mick Jagger Is Not A Big Spender
As the leader of the iconic Rolling Stones, you might think that Mick Jagger loves the finest things in life. But while he does like to party, he is more frugal than he appears. He is aware of how much he spends and has been described by his ex-wives as “pretty tight” compared to how others might think of him.
He says he was always taught to fix things when they break instead of throwing them away, and not to take your entire entourage on vacations to the French Riviera like some stars do today. But having an entourage at your beck and call all the time is half the point of rock stars living as long as Mick has. And plus, with all the damage Mick has done to his body over the years, he could probably use the help.
Ashley Greene Still Flies Coach
Ashley Greene’s performance in the Twilight franchise made her a bonafide star in Hollywood. With all the dough she made over the years, no one would blame her if she shopped, traveled and flaunted just a little. But she manages to stay modest despite all of the hype, due to her father saying that she shouldn’t take acting gigs just for the money, but only if they were important to her.
He also said she needs to be frugal with her money and save, that way she could support herself if a dry spell came up or if she was waiting for a role of a lifetime to come up. Today, she keeps track of all of her spending and apparently won’t pop for a first-class ticket on an airplane. It would certainly be nice to find out you were seated next to her.
Brandon Boyd And His Simplicity
When you imagine the life of a rock star, what comes to mind? Mansions and trashed hotel rooms? Not for Incubus lead singer Brandon Boyd. He prefers a simplistic way of life. He could have bought a huge mansion, but instead lives in a cabin in Santa Monica, California. The home cost $3.5 million, which is kind of a lot of money considering its small size and was built in 1923.
The historic house has a huge backyard and a swimming pool, so it’s not like Brandon is hurting, but he could certainly be a lot more ostentatious. How in the world does a house that size cost three and a half mil? Only in Santa Monica, I guess.
Keanu Reeves Is Just Like Anybody Else
Keanu Reeves has made it pretty clear that he is not one for luxuries of the elite. But he certainly could be after making The Matrix films, which as it turns out, he has already given over 80 percent of his earnings to the special effects and costume design team.
Reeves says, “ Money is the last thing I think about. I could live on what I have already made for the next few centuries.” He is often caught on public transportation, eating at common restaurants and hanging out at the park. Being so laid back made him into a global meme. Whoa, just whoa.
Jose Mujica, The Poor President
Jose Mujica is Uruguay’s former premier, and was known as the “poorest president.” During his presidency, he refused to live in the official presidential residence and opted to move to a farm where he grows flowers for sale. He donates 90 percent of his $12,000 salary in order to support charities in the area so they can help those in need.
He comments that “ I’m called ‘The poorest president,’but I don’t feel poor. Poor people are those who only work to try to keep an expensive lifestyle and always want.”.
Ellen Page Is Very Modest
In case you were living under a rock for the last decade, Ellen Page is kind of a big deal. The star made it big by portraying the titular character in Juno, and has been a big hit ever since. Her illustrious career notwithstanding, she keeps a low-key profile, especially in terms of her home. In fact, until 2014, the actress was living in a small Hollywood Hills house with two bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms.
She purchased the small cottage for less than a million bucks and sunk some dough into fixing it up, including renovating the bathroom. When the house hit the market a few years ago, it was listed at nearly a quarter of a million dollars more than what she initially paid for it. From the sound of it, Ellen Page could have a future in the real estate game if the acting thing doesn’t end up working out. She should definitely stick to her day job, though, since she is super talented.
J.K. Rowling, A Very Down-To-Earth Billionaire
The scribe who brought us the Harry Potter series, J.K., Rowling is worth over $1 billion. It wasn’t so long until she realized that she had no need for all that money, and started donating to charitable organizations and causes. She even says that “Many parts of my life are perfectly ordinary, one could even call it, but that’s what I like about it.” Usually, there’s nothing that separates Rowling from normal people.
She dons normal clothes, is frugal with money and uses her husband’s name in her private life. I don’t know what her husband does, but I doubt he is worth $1 billion. Maybe he should use her name in his public and private life.
Vincent Kartheiser, A Pragmatic Mad Man
The famous Mad Men actor had a one-bedroom apartment while he was working on the hugely popular show. After he became incredibly successful, he stayed in the same apartment but made a few renovations, like a fireplace, and a bed that comes out of the ceiling. Like a pragmatic person, he wanted to make a little money when came to selling the property. He bought the apartment in 2014 for $457,000 and ended up selling it for $808,000.
For those who aren’t focused on money, this might appear to be a savvy financial move along a bunch of hard work. If only Don Draper had used Pete’s apartment for one of his romantic trysts, that place would have gone for ten times the price. They had beds come out of the ceiling in the 60s, didn’t they?
Britney Spears Is Obsessed With Target
Although Britney is one of the most famous divas of her generation, when not on stage, she attempts to live a low-key life. She shops at normal, everyday stores like Target and Walmart. She is known for buying everything from cosmetics to toys to everyday items.
The surprising part is that she does this all on her own, even though she could certainly afford to have someone do it for her. She would rather brave the throngs of adoring fans and shop like an everyday person. And of course, she usually grabs a Starbucks coffee on her way out. Maybe the guy making her coffee at Starbucks is Kevin Federline.
Matthew McConaughey Lived In A Trailer
McConaughey is known for his laid-back, Texas accent, and is one of the biggest stars on the screen. His down to earth ethos is clear when he was “livin” in an Airstream trailer near the beach so he could catch the best waves whenever they presented themselves.
He spoke of the Airstream, “ It’s two seconds from making your bed to putting your coffee on the stove.” Of course, once he got married--shattering the hearts of adoring fans everywhere--and had kids, he was forced to move from his trailer to his real house to raise his family.
Clint Eastwood And His Old, Humble SUV
From his movies, including Dirty Harry and Gran Torino, you could swear that Clint Eastwood would have a couple of garages worth of some great cars, but this is not the case. Although he has made hundreds of millions of dollars over the course of his career, he prefers to drive around in his ancient GMC Typhoon.
This limited edition SUV was made for one year in the early 90s and looks similar to a GMC Jimmy SUV. The little car has some giddy up and Eastwood does have other faster cars. The Typhoon only costs $20,000, though. Do I look good in my tiny SUV? Well do I, punk?
Warren Buffett, A Regular Joe, With Billions To His Name
Whether Warren Buffett knows he is worth $70 billion or not, is anyone’s guess. His modest dress and the way he lives, you might not think so either. Despite being the second richest American, Buffett lives in the $31,000 home he purchased in 1950.
For the Omaha Oracle, the simpler life is, the better. If the reports are true, he doesn’t even like money in the first place. Certain estimates say that he donates most of his money to charity, and by most, it is up to 90 percent of what he earns.
Katie Couric Is Actually A Millionaire
In her intrepid journalism career, Katie Couric earned $55 million. She became famous on The Today Show and the CBS Evening News, but refrains from flaunting her wealth. She doesn’t shop at high-end stores or eat at the most expensive restaurants. Give her a hunk of beef and a trip to Target and she is content.
For all of the time she spent in the spotlight, how amazing is it that she has never got swept up in an extravagant lifestyle? Whoever said that there wasn’t much money in journalism has definitely never met Katie Couric.
Renee Zellweger Is So Simple And Down To Earth
Renee Zellweger’s parents were immigrants who came to the U.S. with absolutely nothing. She knows you have to earn everything you are given. Since becoming a superstar actress, she hasn’t had to pinch pennies like she used to. But that doesn’t mean she has stopped.
Zellweger is so frugal, that she shops for groceries using coupons, despite being worth upwards of $45 million. Of course, she can afford to splurge, but she would much rather spend on what she needs instead of what makes her happy. She seems to have a great head on her shoulders.
Eric Clapton Is Done With The Rock Star Lifestyle
This is one that actually kind of makes sense. Eric Clapton used to be caught up in the rock and roll lifestyle. But after the death of his son, Clapton slowed things down and cleaned himself up. Nowadays, even though he is worth a whopping $250 million, he lives as if he only has a couple thousand.
He likes wearing comfortable clothes that will be durable and long-lasting. He stays away from big drunken parties, but he does have one vice involving his large art collection.
Darius Rucker Stayed True To Himself
Darius Rucker came from humble beginnings and still lives that way. He may have been a part of Hootie and the Blowfish, but the former rock star is happy living the settled down life with his wife and kids now. Perhaps that’s what inspired him to go solo and reconnect with his country roots.
Rucker still records albums and tours but makes sure there is always time for his family. Whatever his next big project will be, it is good to know he will always be the same person. And that person is not Hootie, right?
Eva Longoria Would Much Rather Stay At Home
Eva Longoria made nearly $400,000 per episode on Desperate Housewives, and has made over $35 million in her career. But still, she’d rather stay in most weekends and just relax, rather than fly to France or Spain and traipse the beaches while eating pricey food. It helps that she has invested some money in a restaurant.
Who needs Dominos’ delivery when you can get your own restaurant to make you something? She is also a devoted mother and won’t break away from her kids to attend any of the big parties. Instead, she throws her own backyard BBQs.
Steve Carrell Loves Target...And Their Cargo Pants
People might identify Steve Carrell as a talented comedian, but his lust for Target is dang serious. In fact, it is a borderline obsession. He says he can’t go inside the store without buying something. Leave some for us, Steve! And what does he love to buy in his favorite store? Cargo pants, of course. He calls the pants “comfy but uncool.”
During his time as a star, we believe he has done enough cool things to be able to be comfortable every now and then. Cargo shorts are about as far away as can be from those nice, tailored suits he got to wear on the Daily Show.
Jimmy Kimmel Is Secretly In Love With Costco
Jimmy Kimmel might be more in love with Costco than his wife. He confessed that he wishes he could have been married there instead of whatever beautiful location he ended up at. He has also admitted that he lost his wedding ring and went to Costco to have it replaced.
This might be a one way, dependent relationship, but it is nice to know that even the stars roam the aisles of Costco for the next great free sample and getting froyo in the food court. Can’t you buy wedding bands in bulk at Costco?
Martha Stewart Shops At Bargain Stores
Ever wonder where Martha Stewart, the home living guru, will get her next big find? She has been an icon for years, and little do most people know, she loves going to big box stores like Costco.
It is a well-known fact that she has a line of foods with Kirkland--Costco’s name brand-- and she has been seen standing in the checkout line at the bulk store just like Kimmel and the rest of us do!
Dakota Fanning Is Happy Pleasing Fans At Walmart
Dakota Fanning has been a star since she was ten years old. She really left an impression with her role in the Twilight movies. As famous as she is, she won’t stop going to Walmart and doesn’t care if you see her there. During the filming of Breaking Dawn in Baton Rouge, for example, she didn’t try to hide at all while shopping at the megastore.
When she was spotted by fans and asked to take pictures, she happily said yes. As it turns out, Fanning is both down to earth and kind-hearted.
Colin Farrell And His Old Ford Bronco
Colin Farrell didn’t know how to handle his stardom when he finally made it big. He began partying, like so many do, and ended up in rehab. Now he lives a little more under the radar, driving around in a Ford Bronco from the 90s, instead of a fancy convertible.
Of course, the car is old and might break down at any moment, but Farrell doesn’t care. In his life, it has been one of the most reliable things, so he plans to stand by it as it stands by him.
Personal finance expert and best selling author, Suze Orman, has accumulated enough wealth to not ever have to work another day in her life. Nonetheless, she still appreciates even the smallest of savings. She told CNBC “We get such joy when we go to the grocery store, and KT [Kathy Travis] comes out and she says, ‘Look, because I have this coupon, we saved $2.50.’ And we high five each other, because you should always get enjoyment out of it. ”
According to the financial adviser, as most American have $0 in their savings account, Orman advocates that no matter how much money you earn, everyone should think about their retirement and start saving money. That way, when you get to the age of retirement you can live comfortably, enjoy life and heaven forbid, be a burden on your loved ones.
While most celebs dread being caught wearing the same outfit twice, the Duchess of Cambridge has no problem whatsoever rocking the same look more than once, no matter how many times she's been photographed in it. For example, she's been seen in this elegant champagne-colored ensemble in 3 different events (2010, 2011 and 2012), only changing her shoes and accessories. How relatable!
It's safe to say that she really likes that outfit, and rightfully so. A close friend of the duchess told CNN in an interview, “She specifically doesn’t want to be a fashion icon.” But frankly speaking, whether she likes it or not, we definitely appreciate her carefree sense of style.
Just like her royal highness, the Emmy award winning comedian, Tiffany Haddish, isn't afraid of the fashion police either. Growing up in foster care, experiencing, poverty and homelessness, and finally getting her big break at the age of 37, has made Haddish a very grateful woman to be able to live the life she has now. Because fame is relatively new to her, she often forgets that she's expected to behave a certain way especially while under the scrutiny of the public eye. At award ceremonies she can be seen switching into her back-up slippers when her high heels get too uncomfortable. She's such a lover of Groupons, that she caught the attention of the company and they offered her to be their sponsor.
She has also made headlines for wearing her famous white Alexander McQueen gown on several occasions. In an interview she explained how she bought the dress for the premier of Girls Trip, "When I saw the receipt, I cried. The dress was $4,122! So I’m wearing it multiple f****** times. " She doesn't mind the criticism for wearing the dress again and again. "I don’t care what nobody say - that’s a down payment on a car, that’s a medical bill," she added. "So, even though everyone says I shouldn’t wear the dress in public again, I’m wearing it."
The "pretty woman" and one of the most successful actresses in Hollywood once said in an interview, "I never had enough dresses to be a lady," quite shocking for some one who always looks super glamorous on the red carpet. You'd think she practically sleeps in an Oscar de la Renta gown. She has also admitted to using simple hotel shampoo and conditioner when she's on the road. Who doesn't enjoy a hotel freebie.
Despite her busy schedule and being able to afford all the help she needs, Roberts actually makes an effort to do most of the "normal" activities we do, like tending to her garden, where she grows organics vegetables, knitting and grocery shopping for her home.
The eccentric songstress constantly shows the public that she's is just a normal New York gal. She has been seen ordering take-away at local fast food chains, and she unapologetically posts no-makeup, and unflattering selfies on her social media accounts just to remind fans that she's not perfect and she's just like them. She once tweeted how she finds it strange that people are still shocked when they see her taking advantage of a good sale- ”Why do people look at me like I’m crazy when I use coupons at grocery or try bargaining at retail?".
While she can hire the best private chef in the culinary business, she actually loves to cook. As a daughter of Italian-American parents her favorite dishes include — pizza, pasta, and ravioli.
Charlamagn tha God
This radio personality is most famously known as the co-host of the nationally syndicated radio show 'The Breakfast Club', also known as "The World's Most Dangerous Morning Show." Between becoming a New York Times Bestselling author, and his successful podcast and radio shows, saying Charlemagne is financially "stable" would definitely be an understatement. While he is more than able to afford the best things money can buy, the radio guy loves shopping at Target, and wearing statement hoodies and T-shirts sent to him by fans, and up-and-coming African American designers.
When there is a special event, and Charlemagne finds the need to dress a bit spiffier, he admits to buying high end pieces he'd never normally purchase, and keeping their price tags on so that he can return them the next day. Doesn't this sounds familiar? On social media he's calls himself "Frugal Vandross", a play on the late singer's name, Luther Vandross, and coins his style as "Fine and Frugal".
This A-list actor has the reputation of being one of the nicest people in Hollywood.
