Mel Gibson’s private island, Mago, sits in the southwestern Pacific Ocean and covers a staggering 5,400 acres. The volcanic isle lies close to Fiji, and as one of the largest private islands in the region, the pristine island consists of 22 square kilometers of land.
Mel Gibson has left most of the island untouched, preferring it that way, having only built a small and modest house.
Richard Branson
Branson founded the Virgin Group in the 1970s, so it's only fitting that he should also own one of the Virgin Islands. The island was worth $6 million, but Branson originally offered $100k and was immediately rejected.
One year later and the island was still for sale, so Branson bought the island at his initial offer and received a 97% discount!
Brangelina
The exes heart-shaped island is located just a short 15-minute helicopter ride outside of New York City. The island consists of a 5,000-square foot property as well as an additional guesthouse.
Oh, and the pristine little island also has a helicopter landing pad!
Eddie Murphy
Eddie Murphy bought the island of Rooster Cay for $15 million back in 2007. As a true lover of nature, Eddie Murphy decided to leave the island as it is and untouched.
His belief is that the property is perfect as it is, and any building or construction would only take away from the island's inherent beauty.
Ricky Martin
Back in 2008, Ricky Martin purchased this gem of an island off the coast of Brazil. The estate boasts a giant mansion with a vast nature reserve. As we can see from the photo, it is incredibly lush and green; well done, Ricky!
It sure seems like the perfect place to retreat to with his twins. Living la Vida Loca never looked so good.
