Michelle Williams and Busy Philipps have been best friends since they were on “Dawson’s Creek” together, and we really don’t want to think about how long ago that was. The two actresses spent a fun-filled day together in Los Angeles and posted a series of selfies, all of which were makeup-free. They captioned the pics, “No makeup, no filters! That’s how we roll.”
We’re not sure if it’s the friendship or the skincare, but they both look fabulous. Williams keeps her skin smooth by using facial scrubs; she is a big fan of them and tries to do one every day. You can check out all of Philipps’ beauty secrets on her video tutorials. She has partnered with Olay, which she says makes her feel good about the skin she’s in. Her most important tips are to drink plenty of water and completely remove all makeup before bed. Sounds familiar, right?
Cindy Crawford
Although the supermodel turned 50 a few years ago, she has been posting more makeup-free pics than ever, and we can see why. In this selfie, with the caption “Recovery mode…” Cindy Crawford looks radiant even after a wild night out. She talked to New Beauty about her realistic approach to aging; she knows she's not going to look like she's in her 20s or 30s, so she doesn't try to. It's all about healthy eating, good skincare, and exercising for Crawford.
Crawford has her own beauty line, which she developed with her dermatologist called Meaningful Beauty. She has managed to cut down her routine considerably over the years and believes that everyone wants just a few good products and not to be running after the latest fad. According to CR Fashion Book, Crawford uses Meaningful Beauty Triple Exfoliating Treatment two to three times a week and applies a rejuvenating retinol cream every night. She also uses SPF 30 or higher sunscreen daily and sleeps on a silk pillowcase to prevent wrinkles.
Jessica Alba
Actress and founder of the natural baby and beauty retailer Honest Company, Jessica Alba, shows us her true face in this picture, and it looks beautiful. She has opened up about dealing with acne over the years and says she only got over her skin woes when she started keeping up a consistent skincare routine.
It isn’t a big surprise that her current routine includes her very own products. Alba often posts pics of her skincare regimen, especially Honest Company’s Vitamin C serum. She is also not shy about showing her self-care routines, including mud baths and masks. It sounds like the right way to live if you want seriously great skin, and it’s definitely working for her.
Yara Shahidi
Star of "Grown-ish," Yara Shahidi’s face looks radiant. The young actress, Harvard student, and activist is well known for showing off her makeup-free face on social media. As you can see from this shot, her skin looks amazing, even with some blemishes, and she definitely knows how to catch the light.
Shahidi, who is half Iranian-American and half African-American, told Byrdie that her skincare is something she learned about from her heritage and her family. So, what should you do? According to Shahidi, adding cardamom and turmeric to your diet will do wonders for your skin.
Lady Gaga
In 2017, singer and Oscar nominee for her role in "A Star are Born," Lady Gaga celebrated her birthday with an enormous slice of cake and a makeup clean face. Another no-makeup milestone took place later that year while she was working on the acclaimed film with co-star Bradley Cooper.
Cooper and Gaga shared the story with the LA Times, they were getting ready to read scripts at her home, and she walked downstairs with a face full of makeup. Cooper, who also directed the film, said to her, “Take it off.” He proceeded to use a wipe to remove all of her makeup, asking Gaga to be “completely open” and with “no artifice.” This sentiment echoes some of the moments in the film and makes every romantic out there just a little emotional.
