Reid-Murdoch Center
As we mentioned, “Holidate” was filmed in Atlanta. However, people who know Chicago did get to see glimpses of the city in a few small shots. One such shot included the Reid-Murdoch Center, which is a famous landmark in the windy city. This building’s rich history includes several functions, such as a makeshift hospital, a government headquarters, a grocery warehouse, and an office building.
Domaine
The best part of the film is not the emotional happy-ever-after, but rather Sloane and Jackson’s New Year’s Eve party. You know, when they were having the time of their lives, being goofy, and fooling themselves thinking they had no feelings for each other. This whole party was filmed in Atlanta’s club Domaine. Formerly an opera house, the place is now a fully-functioning nightclub with regular parties and DJ sets. Perfect for partying and scouting for your own Jackson.

Rí Rá Atlanta
Looking for a place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day like they do in the movies? Slap on anything green and go ask for a pint of Guinness at Rí Rá Atlanta. This Irish pub was the filming location for the film’s St. Patrick’s scenes but it is open year-round featuring live music and a carefully curated beer menu.
Gwinnett Place Mall
In “Holidate” Sloane and Jackson get their meet-cute as well as their emotional grand gesture scenes at Lakeview Mall, which doesn’t exist in real life. The filming location, however, is as real as can be. In fact, the Gwinnett Place Mall in Atlanta has served as a filming location for another Netflix production — the Starcourt Mall in “Stranger Things,” so that’s two for one.
