Let’s mix things up a little and try out some bizarre sports that are actually quite popular.
Bossaball
To be fair, this sport looks more like a cartoon than a legitimate pastime. Incorporating the basic principles of volleyball, there are also elements of gymnastics and soccer. But the key ingredient to Bossaball is the inflatable, bouncy court that players use.
The spectacle of bouncing up in the air to perform audacious volleys is what makes this game so fun. It makes sense, seeing that “bossa” basically means “flair.”
Radball
It’s hard enough to play team-based ball games with your feet and hands. But imagine having to use a bicycle while doing it. Cycleball, or “Radball” in Germany, is all about riding a bike while trying to score a goal. Don’t worry though, there aren’t 20 guys on the court.
There are only two players on each team. However, they have to use the bike itself to kick the ball into the opposition’s goal. And that’s not easy.
Regball
Sure, wrestling can be quite violent. Basketball is a pretty vibrant sport. And don’t get us started on rugby. That is basically American football without helmets! Now imagine combining those three sports into one. That’s basically what Regball is.
This crazy Russian sport sees seven guys take on seven other guys, trying to throw a ball into the other’s hoop. But no dribbling is required and it is encouraged to take each other down to win back the ball.
Zorbing
This is probably the most mainstream sport out of the ones mentioned here. Nevertheless, it is still very strange. While you can infuse it with other sports (like Zorb soccer, for example), the main aim of Zorbing is to simply roll inside a bubble.
This rolling can be done down a hill or a long, flat field. Whatever the case, this sport allows players to exercise all of their muscles. With that said, it’s very difficult to maintain control while inside the plastic ball, and a lot of falling over is expected.
