Sing us a song, you’re the piano man… there aren’t many songs with such an iconic opening, particularly one that’s so well-known all over the world. Billy had (and still has) many admirers. The famed musician had been married a couple of times – but it seemed that he needed a few tries to make marriage work for him.
For now, it seems that Billy Joel is happy with his fourth wife, Alexis Roderick, in his retired state. Alexa Ray Joel, his daughter from his marriage to Christie Brinkley, seems to have taken after her old man and is a musician herself. With a stunning mother and her father’s talent, she’s on the up and up!
Homer James Jigme Gere – Richard Gere
Richard Gere and Carey Lowell were overjoyed when their son was born, however, the love didn’t last, with the pair splitting 13 years later. Homer is the only child of Gere’s, and thus, the only one to inherit his dad’s smokin’ good looks and suave attitude.
Gere’s son decided to go with his mom, leaving dad to do the acting thing and live his life – but surely with lots of time spent together regardless! Whilst Homer Gere’s future is uncertain, it most certainly has the potential to be very bright, considering he’s got the support of his mother and one of the most esteemed actors in Hollywood!
Rumer Willis – Bruce Willis
Bruce Willis, the revered actor, from films like Pulp Fiction, The Sixth Sense, and Armageddon, is a heavyweight in the acting world. With his signature smirk and action-man appeal, the actor is also a bit of a marshmallow when it comes to his kids, such as his daughter with Demi Moore — Rumer Willis.
As a kid, Rumer had a few acting roles alongside Mom and Dad, such as in Bruce’s The Whole Nine Yards and Demi’s Striptease. Rumer Willis also appeared on the reality show Dancing With the Stars and has pursued both modeling and acting. Regardless of which way she goes, we’re sure between mom and dad she’s got more than enough support.
Liza Minelli – Judy Garland
Judy Garland is one of those stars of old who will never be forgotten. The Wizard of Oz is arguably one of her most famous films (and generally one of the most famous films ever), and her acting and singing talents were surely passed on to her daughter Liza Minelli.
Liza Minelli started out as a nightclub singer, favoring cabaret and jazz styles, which were the perfect segue into the role which would garner her an Academy Award for Best Actress. Remember the 1972 hit Cabaret?! With her rich and soulful voice, Minelli captivated audiences, and today is a legend in her own right.
Matthew and Gunnar Nelson – Ricky Nelson
Some call it luck, others call it raw talent – whatever you call it, there’s no denying that Ricky Nelson certainly had something going for him from a very young age. Why’s that? Well, how many eight-year-olds do you know that have been able to start a music career for themselves? Exactly. To his credit are hits like “Teen Idols” and “Poor Little Fool”.
With his first wife Kris Harmon, Nelson had four kids: Tracy Kristine Nelson, twin sons Gunnar Eric Nelson and Matthew Gray Nelson, and Sam Hilliard Nelson. Gunnar and Matthew would later form a band together called Nelson.
